Research

Research is a integral part of the College of Engineering’s mission. Faculty members, funded by grants through such organizations as the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, the National Science Foundation and PennDOT, are engaging in cutting-edge research. Faculty research is conducted in the college’s more than 15 advanced laboratories and centers and is supported by a thriving graduate student population and a team of post-doctoral fellows and research scientists. Appreciating the vital role that research serves in enhancing the learning environment, research opportunities are also available to the undergraduate student population through such initiatives as the Undergraduate Summer Research Program. Additionally, faculty and students are collaborating with faculty from other colleges and schools, including the School of Medicine and the College of Health Professions and Social Work.
