Program Goals and Objectives
The Engineering Technology (ET) curriculum is managed by the Department of Mechanical Engineering.  The ET program provides an excellent educational experience for the students.  This experience includes an emphasis on the technical, communication, teamwork and life-long learning skills that graduate engineering technologists need to succeed in both the workplace and society in general.

The goal of the ET program is to provide a broad base of technological skills extending across the traditional fields of engineering technology with a concentration designed by the student and a faculty advisor to meet personal career objectives. The general program requires a range of fundamental courses to equip the student for many careers.  Students may also learn many  useful computer applications including computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided machinery (CAM). With several free electives and many technical electives, the ET program  can allow degree completion or specialization within a chosen field, or the students may choose from one of the existing plans of study in one of  the following concentrations:

• Mechanical Technology
• Construction Technology
• Environmental Technology
• Computer Technology
• Energy Technology
• Mechatronics (at Lehigh County Community College)

The  Engineering Technology (ET) program leads to the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (B.S.E.T.) degree.  Students enrolled in this four-year program are educated for careers as engineering technologists, who are specialists in the applications of engineering in various technological fields.  The engineering technologist works with design engineers, translating conceptual ideas into functioning systems and providing supervisory direction for the implementation of these ideas by the technicians and craftsmen.

Program Offerings
The program is primarily offered at the Main Campus.  Both day and evening courses are available, and  it is possible to complete the degree with evening classes.  While the full-time program can be completed in four years, the part-time program may be  completed over a longer time period.
