Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Temple University is to provide students with a high quality, affordable undergraduate and graduate civil and environmental engineering education.
Basic mathematics, physical and engineering sciences, communication skills, and the humanities are the basis for specializing in advanced civil engineering courses and developing solutions to complex engineering design problems.
The Department offers advanced education in a variety of Civil and Environmental Engineering disciplines that provides a range of skills necessary to prepare for professional practice and licensing and to pursue graduate studies and research.
The Department prepares graduates to provide leadership in a modern, complex society, and to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life while supporting an educational environment that upholds the value of human diversity, cooperation through teamwork, technological innovation, and lifelong learning.
CIVIL ENGINEERING (CE) PROGRAM
Fall 2012
PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES (PEO’s)
A. Graduates will be employed in industries, academia and governmental agencies.
B. Graduates will enter into or successfully complete graduate and/or professional degree programs.
C. Graduates will engage in life-long learning, pursue professional licensure, and be professionally active.
